Update on Power from BC Hydro

Power is out at many schools in the Chilliwack School District because there is a damaged BC Hydro Substation in the Lickman Road Area.   We have just learned from BC Hydro that power will not be restored until after 4:30 today for several of our schools.
Therefore, the following schools will be closing for the afternoon today. 
Sardis Elementary
Vedder Elementary
Vedder Middle
Tyson
Evans
CHANCE Alternate
Unsworth
Yarrow
Cultus Lake
Watson
Shxwetetilthet (Sto:lo Alternate)
Parents will be contacted and informed by the Principal and school Staff at each of these schools.   Students may remain at the school for the remainder of the school day if parents wish.  Staff will remain in the school for the remainder of the school day.
Parents may go to the school and pick up their children if they wish. 
Bus transportation will be made available at the regular time.

Grad Transition

Due to the poor weather in Chilliwack the deadline for the grad transition forms has been extended to January 31st. For January grads please have these forms in immediately if you want them to appear on your report cards.

DPA forms will also be extended until January 31st.

UNICEF CANADA

CSS is holding a coin drive for UNICEF Canada to raise funds to help a family go to school. This coin drive will run January 30-February 14. Collection will be every Tuesday and Thursday in your homeroom block (C/G, first block). We all enjoy school, so let's help others get the opportunity.

Sweatshirt Order

February 3 is the next deadline for sweatshirt orders. Forms are available in front of the gym or at the office. Any questions, please see Mr. Lindsay.
