2018-2019 BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE (BYOD) PURCHASE PROGRAM

We are pleased to announce a Bring Your Own Device Purchase Program for all students attending Chilliwack Secondary in the 2018-2019 school year!  The BYOD Program is simply a way to allow students greater access to tools that will assist them in their learning while increasing their technology skills.  CSS has entered a partnership with Staples Chilliwack to provide 3 optional BYOD purchase packages for our CSS families.  As an incentive, CSS will be providing a $100 voucher toward one of three packages that start at $234 + taxes. Check the pamphlet for more information.

STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE

As you know, student injuries that happen on school grounds or during school activities are not covered by our School Board or Schools Protection Program (SPP).  Therefore, we recognize the benefits of Student Accident Insurance, especially for students who are participating in school athletic programs and may be at risk of dental injuries requiring costly repairs.

Information is available on the district website here

Parents are encouraged to apply online at kidsplus.ca/apply or by phone, toll-free at 1-800-556-7411.  For complete plan details, please visit kidsplus.ca.

Student Dress Code

As a school, we are a place of business and students are expected to demonstrate good judgment in terms of appropriate dress. While on school property, students may not wear clothing that makes graphic or verbal reference to sex, drugs, alcohol or that is violent or discriminatory in nature. Students are to not wear clothing that is overly revealing.  Some examples of clothing that may not be acceptable are, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps and low necklines. In addition, shirts should be worn, and underwear should be covered.

Code of Conduct

The School Community at Chilliwack Secondary is encouraged to act in a responsible and socially acceptable manner.  Our goal is to provide opportunities for the optimum learning experience for all our students and staff in a safe and comfortable learning environment.
